JACQUANA JOHNSON
Mrs. Johnson is originally from Flint, MI. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance from Florida State University. She also holds a Master's in Education from Trident University and a teaching certification from The University of Georgia. She has performing experience with Flint Youth Ballet, Mahogany Dance Theatre, Phlava Dance Company where she also served as the Rehearsal Director, and Price Performing Arts Center's Company. She has worked with several amazing choreographers such as Karen Mills Jennings, Margaret Mead-Finizio, Lisa Nowak, Allyne D. Gartrell, Anjali Austin, Traci Young, Millicent Johnnie, Adam Parsons, Troy Powell, and Andrea Price. Mrs. Johnson has completed 20 years as a public school dance teacher reaching students throughout Georgia and Texas. She was apart of the inaugural staff that implemented the 1st high school magnet dance program in Clayton County, Georgia while serving as the district's lead dance teacher and writing the 9-12 high school dance curriculum. Many of her students have continued on to become professional dancers, performers on cruiselines, perform on broadway, dance teachers, and studio owners. Her former students were also members of collegiate dance programs and teams such as Boston Conservatory, Point Park University, Talledega College, Atlanta Dance Connection, Valdosta State University, Brenau University, University of Georgia, Albany State University, Prairie View A&M University, Tennessee State University, and Alabama State University. Her choreography has been showcased at several regional and national dance competitions receiving numerous high point, judge's choice, and overall achievements.

ABOUT
BOOKER T. WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL DANCE
The classes and auxiliary teams at Washington are school based with a full theatrical experience of dance technique, choreography, performance, and presentation. The students study ballet, modern, and jazz technique. The dance classes perform in school programs as scheduled.  The auxiliary teams perform during football season, parade season, other district functions, and guest bookings.
